FETIDUS: The Damned Heir – Episode 8 (Old version from original release)

by James Durham on September 3, 2009

I am deliriously delighted to bring you Episode 8, in all its post-apocalyptic glory! This has been the most difficult episode to create so far, especially during an eventful couple of months… but it was worth every drop of sweat and blood that went into it. It’s over an hour long, trimmed back from a meaty 75+ minutes, loaded to the brim with more new music and ready to take you deep into the mind of Art Blanchard. I think I could spend another two weeks on it, but I decided this beast was ready to be unleashed as-is.

Let’s get right to the story. I don’t want you to wait another minute, so download Episode 8 of FETIDUS: The Damned Heir now!

Episode 8 (Chapters 21-22):

00:00 – Intro music and credits

This episode is read by the author and features the following voice talent: Prebble Q Ramswell, Valerie Durham and Jose de la Mar. See CAST page for more details.

02:05 – Welcome message from the author

Will catch up with you in the next Unmortem Report, coming up after Dragon*Con! Let’s get right to the story!

05:14 – Story So Far

Read by awesome voice-over actress and zombie lover, Sara Barrack.

09:55 – Chapter 21

“Follow the dead bodies…”
Could this be the big break in the case?

20:27 – A word from our sponsor, Bardus News Network.

23:04 – Chapter 22

“I heard an insidiously familiar voice.”
Of soul, blood and vengeance…

70:13 – Outro

Thanks for listening! If you enjoy this episode, please share it!

Please note: This original release version of the audio file for this episode has been moved to the Episode Archive – Original Releases. Please check the homepage for updates on availability of current FETIDUS releases.

YES! I have been WAITING for this day for FOREVER.
This is the best way to end the perfect day. I’m so overjoyed~ Can’t wait to listen! I’ll probably end up doing more sketches of your characters soon, too~

You ROCK!!

James,
That was the most unique birthday wish I’ve ever received. :) Both that and this episode were definitely worth waiting for. Talk about an intense, epic episode. I’m glad I waited until I had time to listen to the whole thing all at once. There is no way that I could have stopped listening once the episode got going. What kind of a sick, depraved man are you to write a story like this? One after my own heart. Magnificent work!

I only have one major problem with this episode…you cliffhangered us! Now, I’m going to be wanting this next episode for how long? Not too long, I hope. Only a sick, depraved person would make us wait long. Oh. No. Damn! Remember what I said before about you being sick and depraved? I take it all back! You’re a dear, sweet guy that will quickly get us the next installment of our story to keep us from going insane with anticipation. You’re not buying it are you? Oh, well. Guess I better steel myself for a long wait then…

Ok, this comment isn’t related to this episode, but I wanted to comment on those three Parsecs you mentioned being a finalist for. Winning two out of three isn’t bad… ;)

Seriously though, a huge congratulations on two well earned awards. I really enjoy the podcasts of some of your competition. They produce great podcasts that I enjoy listening to, but FETIDUS is a notch above them. Thank you for raising the bar. Other people talk about doing it, but you did it. Keep up the great work!

Congrats James on the Parsec wins!

I’m a recent convert to the world of FETIDUS and you’ve quickly become my favorite ensemble podcast. Excellent casting, superlative production value and original music to boot, you’re ACES in my book.

Just a guy question: Is Mila hot? In my mind I see the misty form of Jessica Alba.

Thanks for all the hard work so far and for what’s to come,
Sam

I don’t know how you do it… it just keeps getting better and better… congrats!

I just listened and I thought you’d want to know that you made me feel ever so slightly sick when Art first gets caught – I know you warned us but, you should warn people not to eat when listening!

Thanks for the gruesomeness and look forward to the next episode!

Hi James,

Even before you did really well at Dragon Con, several of my friends have recommended your story to me, so I have given in and listened over the past weekend.

I could tell you my experience from this past weekend, but that would be better saved for an e-mail. Needless to say I should not have listened to it before going into a mansion investigating for ghosts and then continue to listen driving home on dark foggy highways so very late at night.

Anyway, as a fellow writer and producer I am really enjoying all of the little touches that I am noticing. Also, as someone who has an unrealistic fear of zombies, your podcast is slowly helping me to overcome it.

I love fetidus, and I love that you do music and ads for each episode, but I am going through zombie withdrawl. Can you give us any kind of update on the state of Fetidus.
