Update from the Trenches

by James Durham on July 9, 2012

Hello my friends! It’s been a while since my last update, but that’s because I’ve been deep in the trenches with creative projects. The image above is from one of them, set right here in the world of FETIDUS, from a backstory that explores the apocalyptic events that lead to the FETIDUS stories (illustration by the talented Dede Putra). It’s a long-term project, so I don’t want to be cursed for prematurely and hellishly teasing you, but it is in the pipeline, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Let’s just say that you’ll eventually get to meet some of the characters that caused… the end of the world as Art Blanchard knows it.

Another of the projects I’ve been working on in the past while includes the feature-length indie sci-fi film 95ers, which is now complete and in the hands of distributors and their minions! I’ll update you all when I know more about when/how/where you can watch it, and of course you can follow its saga at 95ers.com!

I’ve also recently refreshed my music and sound production website, and I just posted some audio excerpts from my upcoming album, which will include some of the music from the FETIDUS universe, of course. Head over to ION1.com to listen to some of the snippets. The album is taking a while (surprise!), but it’s coming along beautifully and finally taking solid shape. I selected the tracks for it — the current count is 15. But that shifts weekly, we’ll see. :) Once I get closer to completion, I’ll update you with details of how/when you can listen to it.

As always, my deep appreciation to all the FETIDUS listeners over the years. FETIDUS episodes have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times — something I can barely believe. It’s been an inspiration that has fueled all my creative projects, and I’m looking forward with fiendish anticipation to the next phase…

To stay up to date with my main creative projects, please check back with this site, and bookmark jamesdurham.com, ION1.com and follow me on Twitter!

Warmest Regards, James

So will we see a book two?

Yes, definitely. Cooking along beautifully like a well-seasoned zombie stew. Will post an update when I get closer, but I can’t in all fairness (to your sanity or mine) hint at a release date yet.

Am listening to FETIDUS again this year, as I did last year, and I’d say that the time I’ve spent listening to it again still remains as time awesomely spent :) Thanks James, for the awesome story, dialogue and music, I really appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in. (For the record, I’ve managed to convert a few people into FETIDUS lovers — and will still try to win a few more over.)

Looking forward to the next backstory! Would be glad to pay for it, or any merchandising that results therefrom, too.

Thank you so much for your awesome support and kind words! I’m thrilled you continue to enjoy it! And yes, there is much more to come. Art Blanchard & Co. aren’t through with me yet… (cue the dramatic music)
